No cloud. Ever.
There is no Dozi server for your video to go to. Nothing is uploaded, recorded or stored, so there is no footage anywhere to leak.

What happens when you press start
The baby device creates a brand-new secret code for that monitoring session and puts it in the QR code on its screen. The code is 256 random bits long and is never sent over the network on its own.

Only the phone that scanned the code gets in
When your parent device connects, it has to present that code first. The baby device refuses any device that doesn’t have it, so another phone or laptop on the same Wi-Fi cannot start watching. Start a new session and the old code stops working.

The stream itself is encrypted
Dozi uses WebRTC, the same real-time technology behind modern video calls. WebRTC always encrypts audio and video (DTLS-SRTP), and Dozi sends it directly from one device to the other.

No copies anywhere
Dozi doesn’t record, save or upload what the camera sees. When you stop monitoring, the picture is gone. There is no history for anyone to access later, including us.

- If you buy Dozi, the purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. We don’t see your payment details.
- Your settings stay on your devices. Delete the app and they’re gone.
- Your home Wi-Fi is part of the picture: keep it protected with a strong password, as you would for any device in your home.

Privacy questions
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login, so there is no password to steal. You pair the two devices by scanning a QR code.
Is my video uploaded or recorded?
No. Video and audio go directly from the baby device to your paired parent device on your Wi-Fi and never leave your home. Dozi does not record or store them, and there is no cloud.
Is the connection between the two devices secure?
Yes. Dozi streams over WebRTC, which always encrypts audio and video (DTLS-SRTP). On top of that, each monitoring session gets a new one-time secret code, shared only through the QR code on the baby device. The baby device refuses any device that cannot present it.
Can someone else on my Wi-Fi watch my baby?
Not without scanning the QR code on the baby device. Only the parent device that scanned this session’s code can connect; any other phone, tablet or computer on the network is turned away. When you start a new session, the previous code no longer works.
Can anyone at Dozi see my baby?
No. There is no Dozi server that receives your video or audio, so there is nothing for us, or anyone else, to look at. Nothing is recorded.
Do I need a cloud plan or any other service?
No. There is no cloud storage plan, no account and no third-party service to sign up for, and no extra hardware to buy. You need two iPhones or iPads and your home Wi-Fi. Dozi itself is free to download and free to try.
